1989年にブザンソン指揮者コンクールで優勝し、翌年の凱旋公演で新日本フィルと共演した佐渡裕。ミュージック・アドヴァイザー就任後第1弾となる今回の演奏会では当時のプログラムを再現。師であるバーンスタイン直伝の「前奏曲、フーガとリフス」、バーンスタインが「凱旋公演にふさわしい」としたベートーヴェン交響曲第7番など、高揚感あふれるプログラムは佐渡裕の真骨頂。2023年4月の第5代音楽監督就任に向けて聴き逃がせない演奏会。
