After studying at the Music High School attached to Tokyo University of the Arts and the Faculty of Music at the same university, completed the graduate school at the same university.
Joined the New Japan Philharmonic in 1984. Active in numerous chamber music concerts, studied under Saburo Sumi, Yoshio Unno, and Nobuya Urakawa.
