Born in Saga prefecture. Graduated from the Faculty of Music, Tokyo University of the Arts. While still a student, he performed concertos on campus and at newcomer concerts. Studied trombone under Tatsunori Sakamoto, Atsushi Muraoka, Shinji Koga, and Kiyoshi Ito.

In 2000, he won the 3rd prize in the trombone category at the 17th Japan Wind and Percussion Competition. Received the Saga Bank Cultural Foundation Newcomer Award. Also active as a member of Zoorasian Brass. In addition, he is active as an arranger and composer, and has published many works from domestic and foreign publishers.

He composed the trombone concerto "Four Inspirations" commissioned by the Tokyo Kosei Wind Orchestra and performed it by Mr. Ian Field, who was the Chief trombonist of the Vienna Philharmonic at the time. In 2010, he performed his own trombone concerto "Dabit Tora-san". Deputy chief trombone of the New Japan Philharmonic.
