◎ Yutaka Sado x NJP enters its fifth year, aiming for even greater heights with a diverse range of guests.
Under the baton of Music Director Yutaka Sado, who has been based in Vienna for many years, the orchestra has made "Vienna Rhein," which shines a light on composers who were active in Vienna, the core of its repertoire. In the 2027/2028 season, the orchestra will take another step forward, deepening and expanding the music of Yutaka Sado x NJP by featuring a variety of works that transcend time and region, not limited to the works of composers who were active in Vienna. Last season, the orchestra also explored new possibilities through collaborations with diverse talents, such as "conducting from the piano" where the conductor also acts as a soloist, and performances conducted by the composers themselves. This season, the orchestra will also actively incorporate conducting from the piano and conducting by the composers themselves, aiming for even greater heights through stimulating encounters with various musicians.
◎〈Triphony Hall Series〉 & 〈Opera City Suntory Hall Series〉
This series offers a challenging program and profound artistry that is unique to New Japan Philharmonic. The season kicks off with an appearance by Malin Alsop, who has pioneered the world as one of the greatest female conductors. The series will feature collaborations with conductors long awaited by both audiences and orchestra members, including Andrey Boreyko, who delivered a memorable performance at the 2025 subscription concert, and Jonathan Nott, whose performance of Mahler's Symphony No. 7 "Song of the Night" at the 2024 Summer Muza concert received a great response. Yutaka Sado, entering his fifth season Music Director, will further deepen and expand the "Vienna Rhein" project that he has been working on since taking office. In this series, centered on the musical culture that flourished in Vienna, the series will explore the true value of the orchestra's rich sound and expression through the works of Toru Takemitsu, Schumann, Beethoven, Shostakovich, and Mahler.
*Due to renovations at Suntory Hall, Suntory Hall Series will be held this season as the "Opera City Suntory Hall Series," with performances at Tokyo Opera City Concert Hall from April to July, and at Suntory Hall from September onwards.
◎A musical journey around the world! "Sumida "TOBIRA" of classic "
This series offers a wide range of classical music experiences, focusing on familiar and beloved pieces. Continuing from the 2025/2026 and 2026/2027 seasons, this season's theme is "A Musical Journey Around the World," exploring masterpieces representing France, Russia, Germany, Finland, Austria, Italy, and the United Kingdom.
Violinist Taro Hakase will make his debut appearance at New Japan Philharmonic 's subscription concert. In addition, soloists such as Mayuko Kamio, Issei Kurihara, Kohei Ueno, Dai Miyata, and Alexander Gadjev, who have delivered numerous acclaimed performances in collaboration with New Japan Philharmonic, will grace the season with their uniquely individual musical styles.

Ticket release date for the 2027/2028 season subscription concert
General ticket sales are scheduled to begin on December 4, 2026 (Friday) Continuous Ticket and on February 6, 2027 (Saturday) for single tickets for performances from April to July 2027. However, there will be priority sales for regular members and patronage members as follows (all starting at 10:00 AM).

What is the "Continuous Ticket" that you can purchase first?
A "Continuous Ticket" is a set ticket that allows you to enjoy all subscription concert performances (by series) in the same seat throughout the season. Customers who purchase a "Continuous Ticket" will receive various benefits as a "regular member". In addition to the most reasonable price, you can choose your seat first before single tickets and Ticket･My plan go on sale. You can also reserve tickets for performances hosted by New Japan Philharmonic other than subscription concert before they go on general sale.
What is a “Patronage Member” that can be purchased on the priority release date?
There are three types of individual members: “Individual Supporter” and “Sumida no Kai” (10,000 yen per unit/year), and individual supporting members (30,000 yen/unit, 50,000 yen/year, and 250,000 yen/year). Companies can join as corporate members.
