第4代音楽監督 上岡敏之のタクトで贈るブルックナー交響曲第8番 （ハース版）
At Mr. Ueoka's request, we solicited requests for the program of this performance from the audience at subscription concert in September 2021. Mr. Ueoka's wish that the audience should hear Bruckner's Symphony No. 8, which was the overwhelmingly most requested piece, will be realized.
The New Japan Philharmonic Orchestra has performed Bruckner's symphonies No. 3, No. 6, No. 7, and No. 9, all of which have been highly praised for their unique musicality, and some of them have even been recorded. The last symphony that Bruckner completed, No. 8, is renowned as a masterpiece for its profound and majestic sound and grand scale. It was originally planned to be performed as the final performance of Bruckner's works by the New Japan Philharmonic Orchestra at the 623rd subscription concert in September 2020. This program has been realized after about two and a half years. We hope that this will be a time for us to share with you the musical world that we have created together with Mr. Kamioka's baton and share our joy once again. Please look forward to this special one-off concert to mark the 50th anniversary of the orchestra's founding.
