In 1977, he entered the music department of Sakuyo High School. Studied violin under Takeo Inoue and Noriko Kobayashi. In 1980, he entered Kunitachi College of Music. While in school, he taught violin to Taeko Yamauchi, and chamber music to Antonin Kohout and Chikashi Tanaka. Graduated in 1984. In the same year, he joined the New Japan Philharmonic and continues to this day.
So far, he has studied chamber music with members of the Amadeus String Quartet, Gerhard Bosse, Mstilafus Rostropovich, and Kazuki Sawa.
