Akiko Hasegawa

profile

Born in Tajimi City, Gifu Prefecture. Graduated from Aichi Prefectural Chief of the Arts at the top of his class. Received the Kuwabara Prize and the Momoko Nakamura Prize. 3rd place at the 77th Japan Music Competition. In September 2010, he received a scholarship from the Rohm Music Foundation to study at Leipzig University of Music and graduated with the highest score. In 2013, completed the master's course at Tokyo Chief of the Arts.

He has studied under Akira Nakajima, Takeko Amano, Fumiaki Kono, Nobuko Yamazaki, and Peter Hell. After serving as Chief Cellist of the Kyushu Symphony Orchestra, in 2019 he became Chief Cellist of New Japan Philharmonic.
