He is the winner of the Siemens Halle International Conducting Competition in 2023. He is currently assistant conductor of the Halle Orchestra and Music Director of the Halle Youth Orchestra.
Born in Osaka in 1998. He studied cello from an early age. At the age of 13, he moved to the United States and joined the San Francisco Symphony Youth Orchestra. In his early teens, he became interested in conducting, and founded the Chamber Youth Orchestra in San Francisco, which he conducted himself. He participated in master classes around the world and learned conducting. He also studied under Mirga Gražinytė-Tyla, Johannes Šläfli, Jorma Panula, and Sharn Edwards. In 2023, he became a semi-finalist at the International Conductors Competition "Lilia, City of Music", and the following year, he became a finalist at the 5th Evgeny Svetlanov Conductors Competition held in Monaco.
In 2023, he completed his Masters in Orchestral Conducting at the Juilliard School under the direction of David Robertson, and received his Bachelor's degree from the Herb Alpert School of Music at UCLA, where he studied cello with Antonio Risy and conducting with Neil Stulberg.
He has conducted the Monte Carlo Philharmonic Orchestra, the Hallé Orchestra, the Southern Denmark Philharmonic, the Juilliard Lab Orchestra, and the Juilliard AXIOM Ensemble, among others. He has served as assistant or understudy to Sir Mark Elder, Anya Biermeier, John Adams, Shan Jiang, Roderick Cox, Giancarlo Guerrero, and Jonathan Hayward. In 2023, he was awarded the Career Assistance Award by the Solti Foundation.
Although he is only 25 years old, he has been highly praised for his emotional conducting, outstanding technique, and frank expression of the joy of creating music with the orchestra, and has attracted widespread attention from audiences, orchestra members, critics, and the media.
