Tomohiko Nakai, singer

Born September 2, 1983 in Kanagawa Prefecture.
Graduated from Tokyo University of the Arts. Received the Doseikai Award upon graduation. Debuted in 2007 in "Les Miserables". Belonged to the Shiki Theatre Company for five years from 2010. Appeared in approximately 500 performances each in "Beauty and the Beast" (as the Beast) and "The Phantom of the Opera" (as Raoul). With his lustrous baritone voice, he began performing in musicals and as a singer, and has recently expanded his field of activity to include radio show personality.
Recent stage appearances include "Billy Elliot - The Musical" (as Tony), "A Knight's Tale" (as Pilithos/vocal instruction), "Jane Eyre" (as Shinjun/vocal instruction), and "Moulin Rouge! The Musical" (as Santiago).

劇団四季在団中に図書館で偶然手にした『中原中也全集』に深く感銘を受け、中也の感じた藝術を形にしようと舞台の創作を開始。16’年に企画構成・作曲・演出を自ら手がける独り舞台『詩人・中原中也の世界』を、22年に『ワタシノコト』を発表。以降もブラッシュアップを重ねながら公演創作を続けている。今後の出演にミュージカル「ミセン」(1〜2月)、自ら脚本・演出も手がける音楽劇「生きるということ」(4/25,26)を予定している。
