Born in Hokkaido. Completed master's degree in composition at Tokyo University of the Arts. Graduated Chief his class in piano accompaniment at the Conservatoire de Paris (jury unanimously). To date, he has studied composition with Eisuke Tsuchida and Atsutada Odaka, piano with Shoko Misumi, Kimihiko Kitajima, Nana Hamaguchi, and E. Berchot, and accompaniment with J. Kernel. Winner of the Grand Prize in the 2003 Choral Work Composition Competition sponsored by Tokyo Bunka Kaikan. He has published many award-winning works as well as collections of his own compositions and arrangements. 1st prize at the 4th Lyon International Chamber Music Competition in 2007 (violin and piano duo). In 2008, he was a trainee under the Agency for Cultural Affairs' overseas study abroad program for emerging artists. 2009: 1st place in the piano trio section of the 55th Maria Canals International Music Competition.

While still a student, he has been active in both the fields of composition and performance, and in 2015, he attracted attention as the composer for the high school section of the NHK National School (Choral) Music Competition (N-Contest). In addition to participating in many CD recordings, he has been publishing a series of introductory books for ensemble piano, ``Choral Exercises for Pianists (Kawai Publishing)'' since 2017. Currently, he is a part-time lecturer at Kunitachi College of Music's Piano Department and Senzoku Gakuen College of Music's Composition Department.
