The Kashiwa Boys and Girls Choir was formed in Kashiwa City, Chiba Prefecture in 1987 and has been active for 35 years. Nagareyama City, adjacent to Kashiwa City, has been attracting attention in recent years as a "city for raising children." In 2018, Hiroaki Kato and his fellow musicians called for the formation of the Nagareyama Boys' Choir, with the aim of creating "voices that resonate around the world." Currently, the choir has about 20 members and is working to contribute to improving youth culture in the local area and in society at large.
