An international oboist who has captivated audiences around the world with his sweet tones and rich musicality.
After entering Tokyo University of the Arts, moved to Germany. Graduated from the Chief State College of Music at the top of his class. In addition to winning the Music Competition of Japan, he won prizes at the Barbirolli International Competition in England and the Japan Wind and Percussion Competition. After working as an extra player in the Berliner Philharmoniker, after working as Chief flutist of the Stuttgart State Opera Orchestra, since 2000 he has performed mainly in Europe as Chief flutist of the Mahler Chamber Orchestra. He has performed under the baton of great masters such as Abbado (more than 200 times), Vant, Harnoncourt, Boulez, and Harding, and is frequently invited as guest Chief by major European orchestras and ensembles. He is also active in solo and chamber music, and has performed with NHK Symphony Orchestra, Kanagawa Philharmonic Orchestra, Nine Symphony Orchestra, Tetzlaff String Quartet, Andsnes, and Frost.
He has been invited as a master class professor at the Manhattan Conservatory of Music in New York, England, Spain, Germany, Colombia, Venezuela, etc., and teaches young people.
Associate professor at Tokyo University of the Arts. Received the 49th JXTG Music Award (now ENEOS Music Award) Encouragement Award. Born and lives in Kamakura City.
