Born 1973 in Moscow.
At the age of six, he entered the Central Music School in Moscow and studied at the Moscow Conservatory under Professor Lev Naumov.
After graduating, he studied under Eliso Virsaladze in Munich. In addition to receiving lessons from Andreas Steier and Karl-Ulrich Schnabel, he also developed a close relationship with Sviatoslav Richter.
He won prizes at major international piano competitions such as the Schumann International Competition in 1989 and the Queen Elisabeth International Music Competition in 1991, and has been active internationally ever since.
