A singer-songwriter born in Osaka in 1978 and raised in Osaka. His nickname is Yaiko.
At the age of 19, he encountered the guitar and started writing songs.
Debuted in May 2000 with "Howling" from the indie label "Aozora Records".
In July of the same year, they made their major debut with the maxi single "B'coz I Love You", and their 1st album "daiya-monde" reached number one on the album charts for the first time.
To date, they have released 10 full-length albums, 1 mini-album, and 21 singles (excluding indies).
On March 2, 2016, the 15th anniversary album "TIME CLIP" was released.
On December 2nd, the LIVE Blu-ray “Hitomi Yaida LIVE TOUR “15” COMPLETE EDITION” will be released.
From January 2018, the first hall tour in about 5 years [Hitomi Yaida LIVE CONCERT TOUR ~COCOON AWAKE 2018~] was successfully held at 5 venues nationwide.
In 2019, in addition to activities as Hitomi Yaida, started activities as "yaiko". On August 14th, the mini-album "Beginning" was released for the first time in three and a half years. As a unit with the acoustic guitar vocal duo "Takataka -takataka-", "yaiko x takataka" has appeared at many events and festivals.
In 2020, we will celebrate the 20th anniversary of our debut, and on February 12, we will release the mini album "Keep Going". "20th Anniversary" Yaida Hitomi Live Tour "Keep Going" will be held from February. On May 29th, in a project with Sankei Shimbun, "Beyond Corona" Kibou no STORY ~The Power of Songs~, lyrics were written based on messages from the general public to all those who are fighting against Corona. Announced the song "Anata no STORY" that I wrote. Okuno Asa Wide and news programs also covered their activities. On June 6th, they will release a Kansai region limited single "Neon no Asa" that sings their gratitude to Osaka.
