Akie Amou, soprano

A soprano singer who has both transcendental coloratura and lyric voice, and has received high acclaim both at home and abroad. In 1995, she won the 3rd International Music Competition in honor of Queen Sonia of Norway. Since then, based in Germany, he has appeared in numerous operas at opera houses and music festivals throughout Europe, including the Grand Theater of Geneva, the Saxon State Opera (Semper Opera), the Berlin Komische Opera, and the Norwegian National Opera. In Japan, he has appeared at the New National Theatre, Suntory Hall, Hall Opera, etc., and has appeared as a soloist in major orchestral performances.
As a coaching faculty member of Suntory Hall Opera Academy, he is also actively involved in teaching young people, producing opera performances with commentary, and actively working to raise awareness of opera. In November 2020, he released a solo album "R. Strauss Four Last Songs".
Received the 1999 Arion Award and the 14th Nippon Steel Music Award Fresh Artist Award in 2003. Steering committee of the Japan Rossini Association.
