Born in Shimane Prefecture. Studied conducting under Masamitsu Takashina and choral conducting under Nobuaki Tanaka. Received the Encouragement Award at the 20th Nakajima Kenzo Music Award and the Shimouso Wanichi Music Award in 2015. Currently works as Music Director and conductor of the Rittoyukai, and is involved in planning and producing events such as Tokyo Cantat as an artistic advisor for the general incorporated association Ongaku-ki. Currently Professor Emeritus at Musashino Academia Musicae and Artistic Director of the Iwami Arts Theater at the Shimane Prefectural Arts and Culture Center "Grand Toi".
