Originally from Kagoshima. Graduated from Kagoshima Tamaryu High School and Mie University's Faculty of Education, and then graduated Chief from Aichi Prefectural University of the Arts Graduate School.
Received the Yomiuri Music Newcomer Award. Won first place at the Mie Prefecture Instrumental Music Competition.
He joined New Japan Philharmonic in 1997. He has released CDs including "Salut d'Amour," "Ave Maria," and "Japanese Songs Played on Viola." He has performed as a soloist with New Japan Philharmonic and various other orchestras. The documentary programs "A Musical Gift" and "Putting Dreams on Instruments" about Yoichi Yoshitsuru have been broadcast on cable television nationwide.
He has been leading concerts for over 15 years in Nakatsugawa City, Gifu Prefecture, Tsuyama City, Okayama Prefecture, and other locations, as well as handling all aspects of music for the Rotary International District 2630 Convention, all of which have been successful. Beyond classical music, he has also held numerous collaborative concerts incorporating Hawaiian music, traditional Japanese music, rakugo (traditional Japanese storytelling), magic, and more.
Member of the Japan Federation of Musicians, the Japan Society for Music Education, and the Sumida Exchange and Transportation Regional Revitalization Council (Sumikokochi). Tourism Ambassador for Nakatsugawa City, Gifu Prefecture. Also instructs at Tokyo Metropolitan Aoyama High School and Tanko Philharmonic Orchestra (Ryogoku High School Alumni Orchestra). Resides in Sumida Ward.
I hold a concert every month at "Ryogoku Legato" with my colleagues from New Japan Philharmonic.
