He began playing the bassoon at the age of 13 under Koji Okazaki. He graduated from the Tokyo University of the Arts Faculty of Music High School and then from the same university. He went to Germany as a DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service) scholarship student, and honed his skills at the Hanover and Munich University of Music. He completed the Meister Course (graduate course) at the Munich University of Music. While there, he served as a research student with the Munich Symphony Orchestra. After serving as Chief bassoonist at the Augsburg Municipal Opera House, he returned to Japan. In 2009, he performed as a soloist in the "New Japan Philharmonic Special Concert" with New Japan Philharmonic under the direction of Seiji Ozawa. He has also performed as a soloist in New Japan Philharmonic subscription concert and "Masterpiece Series" under the direction of Toshiyuki Kamioka, G. Bosse, and Pv Steinaecker, as well as in the Kobe City Chamber Orchestra's subscription concert under the direction of G. Bosse. He has performed as a soloist in the Korean Chamber Orchestra's "Special Gala Concert" and in the Changwon Philharmonic Orchestra's subscription concert. Currently, he is primarily active as Chief bassoonist of New Japan Philharmonic, and also participates in events such as the Kiso Fukushima Music Festival. He is also a part-time lecturer at the Tokyo University of the Arts Faculty of Music and the Nihon University College of Art. He studied bassoon under Koji Okazaki, E. Marschall, K. Thunemann, and the late Hiroshi Date.
