Kotosuke Kataoka, piano

profile

Born in 2006. Started playing piano at age 5.
In 2016, she enrolled in the Sengawa branch of the Toho Gakuen School of Music's Children's Music Classroom.
She won second place at the Tokyo regional competition and third place at the national competition, as well as the Yokohama Citizens' Award, in the elementary school division of the 72nd All Japan Student Music Competition. She also won third place at the Tokyo regional competition in the junior high school division of the 74th and 75th All Japan Student Music Competitions. She won the gold medal at the Asian competition of the high school division of the 24th Chopin International Piano Competition in Asia, and the bronze medal at the 47th PTNA Piano Competition G-class national competition, among other awards in numerous competitions. She performed at the 13th Classic Yokohama Salon Concert and YAMAHA GINZA SALON CONCERT Vol.20.
In November 2025, she appeared in the Geigeki Branch Concert "Masterpiece Recital Salon, 34th Edition," where she performed all 24 of Chopin's Etudes in one go, captivating the audience at the Tokyo Metropolitan Theatre.
She has studied under Miho Kanai, Akiko Kato, Ryoji Ariyoshi, and Kazune Shimizu.
She graduated from the music department of Toho Girls' High School (co-educational) and is currently a first-year student at the Toho Gakuen University Faculty of Music as a scholarship student.
