Ryuichiro Ikariyama

Ryuichiro Ikariyama, conductor

profile

Born in Kikaijima, Kagoshima Prefecture. Studied under Junichi Hirokami and Yasuhiko Shiozawa. After graduating from Tokyo College of Music and its graduate school, he moved to Germany in 2015. He studied orchestra conducting at the University of Music Mannheim and performed with the Southwest German Philharmonic Orchestra and others. He also studied choral and opera at the Darmstadt Music Academy. After returning to Japan, he has performed as a guest with many orchestras, including the Sapporo Symphony Orchestra, Sendai Philharmonic Orchestra, Yamagata Symphony Orchestra, Gunma Symphony Orchestra, Japan Philharmonic Orchestra, Yokohama Sinfonietta, Ensemble Kanazawa, Aichi Chamber Orchestra, Chubu Philharmonic Orchestra, Kyoto Symphony Orchestra, Osaka Philharmonic Orchestra, Kansai Philharmonic Orchestra, and Kyushu Symphony Orchestra. He is currently the conductor of the Niigata City Junior Orchestra Classroom at Ryutopia Niigata City Performing Arts and Culture Center.
