Harumi Fuuki, piano

Composer and pianist. Born in Osaka Prefecture in 1985. Graduated Chief the Kunitachi College of Music, majoring in composition, and completed graduate studies at the same university. In 2013, he became the youngest person to win the 36th Japan Academy Prize for Excellence in Music for "The Chronicle of My Mother". He later won the same award for the third time for the 39th Japan Academy Prize for "The Longest Day of Japan" and the 41st Japan Academy Prize for "Sekigahara". After working on the music for the NHK morning drama "Massan", he worked on the historical drama "Seigo Don" and the morning drama "Maiagare!". His main works include the anime "Forest of Piano", the films "And Then the Baton Was Passed", "The Prime Minister's Husband", "The Deer King: Yuna and the Promised Journey", "The Mirror's Lonely Castle", "90 Years Old. What's So Celebrated", "Aimitagai", the Shiki Theatre Company's original musicals "The Boy and the Beast" (directed by Go Aoki) and "Ghost & Lady" (directed by Scott Schwartz). The premiere of "The Cry of the Earth: Opera Mizuchi" is scheduled for June 2025 at Biwako Hall. First place winner of the 26th Gen-On New Composer Award.
