He graduated Chief his class from the Department of Composition at Tokyo University of the Arts, and completed his graduate studies at the same university. His compositions span a wide range of genres, including opera, orchestral, vocal, and choral music, and he is also known for his imaginative arrangements that breathe new life into compositions. He has also written compositions for many soloists, and is highly regarded as a collaborative pianist.
He has also attracted attention for his production skills in planning performances and classical music courses that are planned from a unique perspective, such as the Ginza Buratto Concert Café Series at Oji Hall (planning, piano), the Lilith Art University Classical Music Department at Yokohama Sakae Ward Community Cultural Center (planning, piano), and the Nagano City Art Museum's Masanori Kato's Out-and-Out Classical Music (planning, piano). He has released many works, including the opera "Byakko" (winner of the 11th Sagawa Yoshio Music Award) in 2012 and "Sixteenth Montage" (commissioned by the Central Aichi Symphony Orchestra) in 2018. He also arranged the chorus for the NHK 2020 support song "Paprika."
His latest CD is "PIANO COLOURS" (Avex Classics), released in 2017.
Since April 2016, he has been the host of the NHK-FM program "Kanban no Tsubasa." He is the resident producer of Nagano City Art Museum (2019-2023). From April 2022, he will be the music ambassador for Hirashin Hiratsuka Cultural Arts Hall.
