New Japan Philharmonic 50th Anniversary 643rd Subscription Concert Online Lecture Information

The program of the formation performance 50 years ago is revived!

This concert is exactly the same program as the music performed 50 years ago on September 15, 1972, at the New Japan Philharmonic 's special concert conducted by Seiji Ozawa.

"An Unprecedented and Passionate Musician, Anatomy of Berlioz"

Do you know a musician named Berlioz?
A composer who is not very famous and only a few songs are recognized in the world.
Ever since I was a child, I only know the teachings of my father who is a doctor, I never go to school, and I can't even play the piano...
What sparked his interest in music was a small flute he found on his father's desk.
Nevertheless, he is a genius who had a great influence on Liszt and Wagner, who write operas and musical plays.
This time, we will dissect such an unprecedented and passionate Berlioz.
And how did the English horn, the oboe's father's instrument that appears in the song, and the oboe's father's instrument, and how the postman's trumpet produced only three sounds in the olden days, have evolved and evolved into the modern horn? It is a lecture where you can hear various stories from the performers, such as how it became, etc., which will not be included in the program on the day of the concert.

Navigator: Ariga Tajiri (classical music writer)

Performers: New Japan Philharmonic Chief Oboe Player Hiroki Shinno, New Japan Philharmonic Oboe & English Horn Player Akiko Mori, New Japan Philharmonic Horn Player Marie Fujita

In this "Carnival in Rome", the two members of the oboe section, who are very active in the song, talk, and in the symphony No. 3, "Hero", Beethoven talks about the horn, which until then was only treated as a signal trumpet. You will be able to hear many fun stories and stories that you may think you know but actually didn't know, such as writing sounds for three horns as ``brass instruments that blow brilliant melodies'' for the first time.
