We would like to inform you that the New Japan Philharmonic will welcome conductor Toshiyuki Kamioka and hold a special concert commemorating its 50th anniversary on Saturday, March 25, 2023 at Sumida Triphony Hall.

About the background to the decision

Since 2016, Mr. Ueoka has performed many concerts as the Music Director of the New Japan Philharmonic, but due to the effects of the new coronavirus infection, he will not be able to return to Japan after March 2020, and will be absent during the final season of his term. It's closed. It was a very sad end for the orchestra that we were unable to deliver the culmination of music together with Music Director Ueoka to the audience, and we are very sorry to the audience who have supported and looked forward to the Ueoka New Japan Philharmonic. I was heartbroken.
Hoping that it will be a special time for the players to mature and bloom their thoughts on the music created with Mr. Ueoka, we have decided to hold this performance at the home base Sumida Triphony Hall to mark the end of the 50th anniversary year. .
