Topic: Was Maurice Ravel an Impressionist or a Neoclassic?

[Lecturer Profile] Takayuki Komuro (Music Writer / University Faculty)
Born in Ibaraki Prefecture. After studying composition at the Tokyo College of Music High School and the university, he majored in musicology at the university's graduate school. After graduating, he worked as an assistant at the Tokyo College of Music and a part-time lecturer at Wayo Women's University. He is currently a part-time lecturer at Toho Gakuen School of Music while also working as a freelance music writer. He writes song descriptions and interview articles focusing on classical music, contemporary music, jazz, and film music.
Since 2018, he has also been giving lectures on the day of New Japan Philharmonic 's "Sumida "TOBIRA" of classic Music" and making irregular appearances on TBS Radio's "After 6 Junction." He has co-authored "Introduction to Wind Bands for Non-Listeners" and "A Journey to the Piano" (Artes Publishing). His hobby is music analysis.
