Born in Paris. After graduating from the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris at Chief his class, he studied under Paul Badura-Skoda, Jörg Demus and Alfred Brendel in Vienna. In 1968, he won the Munich International Music Competition (the jury unanimously agreed), and won the Leeds International Piano Competition the following year.
He has performed with orchestras such as the London Symphony Orchestra, the London Philharmonic Orchestra, the Tonhalle Orchestra of Zurich, the Orchester National de France, the Orchester Philharmonie de Radio France, as well as Sir Colin Davis, Stanislaw Skrowaczewski, Marek He has performed with conductors such as Janowski and David Zinman. He has appeared at major music festivals in France, the BBC Proms, and La Folle Journée TOKYO in Japan, and is very popular.
As for the CD, "Satie and Friends" (Mirrare) won the Diapason d'Or Award. The latest edition is "Mozart: Piano Sonatas". In addition, he performed the piano concerto with Sir Neville Marriner in the movie "Amadeus", which attracted a lot of attention.
