Former Music Director Toshiyuki Kamioka and France's world-famous pianist Anne Queffélec will finally bring to fruition the July 2020 program that was canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic. Keferek is a true talent who creates delicious music without skill. Mozart's Concerto No. 27, performed with Kamioka and New Japan Philharmonic in 2016, was full of a clarity and desolation that cannot be heard anywhere else. This time, Beethoven's Concerto No. 1 is a piece that combines the lightness of Mozart and the fresh power of a young composer. There is a feeling that this is going to be a great performance filled with joy.
The second half is Schubert's "Great" Symphony. This is the program that concludes the 2020 season of all Schubert symphonies, so it can only be described as ``long-awaited.'' This masterpiece is a ``celestial grand symphony'' with beautiful melodies. How does Kamioka, who re-washes the score and creates fresh music, make it listenable? This piece is extremely interesting, as the tempo and structure of the piece vary greatly depending on the conductor.
