
The annual end-of-year special concerts of Symphony No. 9 will be held at four venues on December 17th, 18th, 19th, 20th, 21st, and 22nd, 2025.
The conductor is Yutaka Sado, the 5th Music Director of New Japan Philharmonic. Soloists include soprano Heidi Stober, who has performed with Sado in operas, Kasumi Shimizu, a mezzo-soprano who represents Japan, tenor Riccardo Della Sciucca, who is active in opera houses around the world, and baritone Gustavo Castillo, and the Kuriyukai Choir and sing a "Song of Joy". Sumida Triphony Hall (12/18) and Yokohama Minato Mirai Hall (12/19) are free invitation for children under 18 years old. Last year, more than 8,000 spectators listened to New Japan Philharmonic × Yutaka Sado 's "Ninth." Please look forward to this year's masterpiece that will be a fitting way to end the year.

"Ninth Symphony" Special Concert 2025 for Everyone to Enjoy
In the first half of the concert, you will be able to see "The Story of the Ninth Symphony," which is told through illustrations and a story. While looking at illustrations by animation artist and illustrator Saki Iyori, you will follow the story of how Beethoven came to compose the timeless masterpiece "Ninth Symphony." After a break, in the second half, you can enjoy a powerful performance of "Ninth Symphony" under the baton of Music Director Yutaka Sado.

In addition, since 2017, this concert has been performing the "Patronage Song" (lyrics and composition: Miyagawa Akira), whose lyrics include the names of the companies and individuals who are "New Year's Eve Supporters" who have provided support. New Year's Concert 2026
New Japan Philharmonic 's "New Year's Concert" celebrates the New Year with the elegant sound of Vienna. Conducted by Yukio Fujioka and hosted by the familiar Naoko Tazoe, the concert will also feature soprano Miku Yasukawa, who will perform the magnificent songs of J. Strauss II, as well as a collaboration with geisha. As per usual, a concerto will be performed by a member of the orchestra, and this year, Koshino Mana (NJP percussionist) will take the role. With a wide range of content, including orchestral performances and fun talks, we will celebrate the start of 2026 in a spectacular way.
